The norm these days is quick meals. So nothing like slicing some tempeh, marinating it in BBQ sauce, and baking it in the oven. Then serving it along side a can of baked beans along with some brown rice and dark baby greens. Ridiculously simple yet healthy. This meal is really a power house for nursing mothers. Beans are good sources of protein, fiber, calcium, iron, thiamine, and niacin. Fermented soy products like tempeh are especially beneficial because they contain healthy bacteria and enzymes that aid digestion. The greens I used are part of the dark green leafy vegetables which supply so many vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A and C, calcium, and iron to the body. These greens help promote a plentiful milk supply for your baby. And lastly whole grains, like brown rice, supply fiber, minerals, B complex vitamins, and protein. As you can tell I’ve been thinking through the meals I prepare to keep my body healthy, which in return keeps my baby’s body healthy. I feel great these days and overall am not sleep deprived and have plenty of energy.
Can you believe my little girl is already 1 month!
